Mid-November: Trees, Mulch and Community Composting

It's November and we're celebrating trees this month!  Bare root season has arrived and it's a great time to consider adding a tree, shrub or some hedging to your green space.

Don't forget, the first Tree Festival takes place on Saturday November 25th at Petersfield's Community Garden from 10am-3:30pm, organised in partnership by PeCAN, Petersfield Community Garden, The Tree Council and East Hampshire District Council.  We'll be there recording a Growing Together podcast so do come and say hello - and order a tree too if you wish.

In the latest podcast, Tony Kirkham, former Head of the Arboretum at Kew Gardens, offers tree advice and thoughts for future tree planting.

And how do you look after your garden over the winter?  Do you mulch, grow green manure, cover with a protective layer? Head Gardener Ben Pope returns with the 3rd instalment of his Working Garden Diary and poses the question - to dig or not to dig?

Plus, we have exciting news of the 2nd Petersfield Seed Swap, which will take place on Saturday March 9th, 10am-2pm at Winton House in Petersfield. More details to come.

Thank you for joining us and Growing Together

Growing Together with Claire and Steve is a gardening magazine podcast, produced by Shine Radio
